A 50-acre brush fire in Allegan County took several fire departments to put out yesterday afternoon. The fire was on a farm in Leighton Township and crews were called to the scene around 5:15 p.m. The Leighton Township Fire Department called for backup immediately as winds were gusting to 20 miles-an-hour. Crews protected the barns from the flames, no one was hurt, and investigators are searching for the cause.
