A woman who worked for Four Winds Hartford Casino is charged with embezzling $700,000 from the casino on July 30. An officer told the judge about what she is accused of doing.

“She counted out $700,000, put it in a bag, and walked out of the casino.”

Thirty-eight-year-old Danika Young of Coloma is accused of taking the money to someone in Gary, Indiana but police have not indicated if they know who that person is. She apologized to the judge at her arraignment last week and said it was the first time she has been charged with any crime. Young’s public defender says she has worked for the casino for the past 16 years, and her bond has been set at one-million-dollars.
