1994 – The film “Forest Gump” hit theaters on July 6th 1994 and became a top grossing film for the year. The movie featured a popular soundtrack with retro songs from The Doors, Elvis Presley and Three Dog Night.
2016 – With seven consecutive weeks at No.1 for the U.S Song and Album charts, Drake equaled the record established by Michael Jackson in 1983.
Artifact of the day: July 6th 1957, Paul McCartney and John Lennon cross paths for the first time at a concert in Liverpool. Their next meeting would lead to Lennon asking McCartney to join his band and the rest is history.
