Hi friends, it’s Zack East. You might remember me as the guy that used to work here on the Coast for nearly the last 16 years. I started as an intern, made my way to weekend shifts, and eventually full time radio in 2010 here on the Coast as I began the Best Mix in the Morning Show. Then, we hired our good friend Jonny, and he took over for me so I could sleep in and pretend to be a great radio station manager. Hah!
I am excited to say that COVID-19 has produced something positive: I miss radio, and I miss mornings a lot. So I’ve decided to come back. The Best Mix in the Morning returns Monday, July 13th from 6-10am featuring all of your favorite segments: Music News, Coffee Talk, The Coast Social Network, The Daily Dish, Happy Headline, and more!
Don’t worry, Jonny will still join us from time to time where he can. He’s moved to our sister station, 97.5 Y-Country to do Afternoons there. And we said goodbye to Stephanie as she embarks on a brand new full-time career right here in Michigan’s Great Southwest. We’ll miss both of them, but they’re not far!
I am also incredibly excited to welcome back Phil McDonald to the Coast as well! Phil will be with you each weekday after the 98 Minute Non-Stop Music Mix at about 11:30am-3pm. Joining us for the first time on the Coast staff for afternoons taking over for Rikki Scott will be Chicago native Steven Richards, who LOVES the Best Mix (and you’ll love him, too)!
