Furry Friends Friday with “Noir” from Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan – Friday, February 25, 2022
Furry Friends Friday featuring “Fresco” from Al-Van Humane Society – February 11, 2022
Fresco is a very sweet, very smart 3 year old male dog who is as loyal as they come! He has had quite the journey with us here at Al-Van Humane Society, and so many of us are very proud of the progress he has made. He has been at Al-Van for 216 DAYS!! Fresco loves his squishy toys more than life itself, and walks come in close second. As soon as you ask Fresco if he’d like to go for a walk, he gleams from ear to ear! He has been known to do very well with puzzle toys and any other toy that encourages enrichment. He’s got a big head to house his large brain and he’s ready to find the knee to rest it on! Fresco does have some prey drive, so he would do best in a home without cats or small animals, and he would need to meet any dogs that already reside in a home before adoption. Fresco is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for his forever home! If you would like to meet this beautiful and intelligent dog, fill out an Al-Van Humane Society online adoption application at al-van.org/adopt.... [Read Full Story]

Furry Friends Friday with “Pot Roast” from Berrien County Animal Control – January 21, 2022
Pot Roast is a male 5 to 7 year old Terrier Mix, weighing just over 65 pounds. This big boy loves to be outside and enjoys exploring! He is wonderful when walking in a harness on-leash. Pot Roast is also very happy to snuggle inside on the couch with you, enjoying some snacks and watching TV. He could live with another pet, however, he can be picky about his friends so a careful introduction would be required. Although he is a smart boy, Pot Roast would enjoy obedience training because he always likes to learn new things. Pot Roast is neutered, but, he will require a dental exam with an established veterinarian upon adoption (BCAC will need to verify the appointment with the veterinarian.) His adoption fee is $75.00. Pot Roast is at Berrien County Animal Control, Phone 269-927-5648, 1400 South Euclid Avenue, Benton Harbor, MI 49022. Please contact us or stop by the shelter to learn more about our big boy, Pot Roast.... [Read Full Story]
Furry Friends Friday with “Apollo” from Cass County Animal Control – Friday, January 14, 2022
Apollo is an American Pitbull Terrier and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He is just under 3 years old and has been at our shelter for about 4 months. When he came in we were told that he is skittish around new people, however, in the time he’s been with us Apollo has begun to open up. When you spend time with Apollo, he will show you how goofy and playful he can be, as well as his desire for attention and love. Apollo would really thrive in a home with an owner who is patient and willing to show him that new things are not as scary as they seem. Apollo is house broken, crate trained, and knows basic commands such as sit and shake. When Apollo visited the veterinarian he was very friendly with the staff, and was even well-behaved while his toenails were being trimmed. He has not had a meet and greet with another animal, however, he is very curious about other dogs. Apollo is not yet neutered so his adoption fee is $65.00. Apollo is at Cass County Animal Control, Phone 269-445-3701, 323 M-62 North, Cassopolis, MI 49301. (Shelter Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-11am By Appointment, 11am-5pm Lobby Open) Please contact them to learn more about the amazing Apollo!

Furry Friends Friday with Bossie the Cat from Berrien County Animal Control – January 7, 2022
Bossie is a spayed five year female cat, and she’s also micro-chipped. Bossie’s previous owner released her to us because of an impending move. Bossie is a shy girl until she gets to know you. Then, she becomes very affectionate and sits in your lap and gives you sweet “head butts” in appreciation. Because she is somewhat shy, Bossie would be more comfortable in a quiet home with no children. Please contact Berrien County Animal Control at 269-927-5648 or stop by the shelter Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 and Saturday 8:30-Noon to learn more about our beautiful Bossie.... [Read Full Story]
