Back in 1991, World War II veteran Bob Mettauer set a goal of riding 100,000 miles on his bicycle. Back then, he was 67 years old. He’s now 95 — and he did it. “Bicycle Bob” crossed the finish line to a crowd of supporters to see him complete his 100,00th mile.

When he was younger, Bob was pedaling 20 miles per day. These days, he still gets in about 9 miles each day. Those miles added up, allowing him to achieve his goal.

Bob is actually on his third bike since setting his goal and admits that there’s plenty of life left in that bike.

And while he plans to get back on his bike soon, he won’t have such an ambitious goal going forward. (Insider)
