Justin Timberlake tells Apple Radio that he and Timbaland created “Sexyback” while listening to David Bowie. ”I was listening to David Bowie’s Rebel Rebel, which essentially is about a cross-dresser, and so I was picturing guys, girls, all iterations of that in a club, singing this to each other.  And I said, this has to be so simple and a vibe and just like an attitude. And I was like, what’s the most audacious thing you could possibly say. And that was the first line of the song. We got to bring dance music back’: And the funny thing is Tim’s playing the beat, right? This is exactly how it happened. I’ll never forget this moment. So he’s like, “All right man. I think we got to bring dance music back. So he’s [beatboxing]…He’s like, “What are you going to say?” I just go like this, “I’m bringing sexy back.” And he goes, “Yeah!”‘

Happy Headline from United Federal Credit Union – Tuesday, August 25

Two sisters from Nebraska who haven’t seen each other in 53 years were – amazingly – reunited, due to coronavirus.
Back in May, 73-year-old Doris Crippen ended up in the emergency room and battled back from coronavirus.
When Doris was released from the hospital, she had to spend some extra time getting some rehab work on her arm.
It was in the rehab center that she encountered a wonderful surprise … Her long-lost sister, 53-year-old Bev Boro, was working there.
Bev recognized Doris’ name on a patient board – and the lives of the two women changed forever.
Doris and Bev have the same father, but different mothers – and they haven’t seen each other in 53 years, when Bev was just a baby.
Doris admitted that she had tried to find her siblings several times over the years, but failed.
It ended up taking a global pandemic to, finally, bring these two women together… and inspire them to begin planning a family reunion. (WTTG-TV)

I’ve been asking myself, ‘What do I want to say?’”

Larry King has broken his silence on the deaths of two of his children in the last three weeks.
On Sunday the TV journalist wrote on Facebook, “It is with sadness and a father’s broken heart that I confirm the recent loss of two of my children, Andy King and Chaia King. Both of them were good and kind souls and they will be greatly missed.”
Chaia was 51 and Andy was 65.
King explains that “Andy passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on July 28th, and Chaia passed on August 20th, only a short time after having been diagnosed with lung cancer. Losing them feels so out of order. No parent should have to bury a child.”

Paris says, “From the moment I woke up until I went to bed, it was all day screaming in my face, yelling at me, continuous torture.”
She adds that “the staff would say terrible things. They were constantly making me feel bad about myself and bully me. I think it was their goal to break us down. And they were physically abusive, hitting and strangling us. They wanted to instill fear in the kids so we’d be too scared to disobey them.”

Ryan detailed the concept in an Instagram live chat, saying, “It’s the most famous venues in the world, which are now sitting dormant for the next 12 or 15 months. Basically I miss Unplugged, I miss MTV Behind the Music. I miss the concert experience, but it’s a different way with the stories behind the hits and songs that change your life.”
He added that there’s an upside for both artists and fans. “I’ve kind of Frankenstein’ed my version of that called One Night Only and the biggest artists in the world performing at whatever venue they choose, doing all their hits and being able to launch a new single, launch a new album off the back of each episode.”
There’s nothing set in stone yet, but Tedder says he’s been talking to a lot of executives about the idea.

Have you taken your dog for a walk today? In Germany, a law has been introduced that would make it mandatory for owners to take their dogs for walks at least twice a day – for a minimum of one hour (in total). The proposed “Dogs Act” also states that owners would not be able to leave dogs chained up or alone for an entire day and puppies would be required to have human companionship for at least four hours a day. Agriculture Minister Julia Klöckner said in a recent interview, “Pets are not cuddly toys; their needs have to be taken into account.” If passed, the law could go into effect next year. Have we actually found a hangover cure? We all have our own hangover “cures” – from eating a greasy breakfast to “sweating it out” with a workout, to popping Ibuprofen. But a study from Finland may have discovered what could potentially be a real cure. Researchers from the University of Helsinki and the University of Eastern Finland found that the amnio acid L-cysteine decreased hangover symptoms like nausea, headache, stress and anxiety. L-cysteine is found naturally in the human body and is also abundant in protein-rich foods. The amino acid is also sold as a dietary supplement. (Delish)

It may not quite have the resonance of Oprah’s Book Club, but Adele has heaped praise on a self-help book she says “will shake your brain and make your soul scream.”
The newly slimmed-down singer gushed on Instagram about Untamed: Stop Pleasing Start Living by Glennon Doyle. She writes, ” I am so ready for myself after reading this book! It’s as if I just flew into my body for the very first time. Whew!… Anyone who has any kind of capacity to truly let go and give into yourself with any kind of desire to hold on for dear life – Do it. Read it. Live it. Practice it. We are a lot! But we are meant to be a lot!”
Adele suggests that you not only read it, but “have a highlighter on hand to make notes because you’ll want to refer back to it.” She says the book taught her that she’s solely responsible for her own freedom and that “our own liberation liberates those around us.”

Britney Spears struck out yet again on Wednesday, when a California judge dismissed her latest attempt to have her dad removed from her conservatorship.
The court ruled that Jamie Spears would retain control of Brit’s finances, while “temporary” conservator Jodi Montgomery would be in charge of everything else. For what it’s worth, Britney is fine with Montgomery’s work — she just wanted to boot her dad.
Brit got some surprise support from her mostly forgotten first husband Jason Alexander, who she was married to for three days back in 1994. He showed up to tell the paparazzi, “I wanna see Britney get what she rightly deserves. From pretty regular conversations, she doesn’t want to be under the conservatorship. It’s negatively affecting her life. It’s time for it to be over.” (TMZ)

Joe Exotic‘s zoo has closed permanently.
This comes after current owner Jeff Lowe had his license to operate the animal park, made famous in the Netflix docu-series Tiger King, suspended.
In a post, Lowe bragged about the “unfathomable source of income” the Netflix series brought him. “Income that will guarantee the long term care of our animals and allow us to be very selective going forward.” Then he added, “As of today, we have decided to close the old zoo effective immediately.”
He also said he is “forfeiting [his] USDA exhibitors license.”
Joe Exotic, who’s serving a 22-year prison sentence in a murder-for-hire plot against Carole Baskin, was forced to give the zoo to his rival. But a judge gave Lowe time to close up shop before transferring it.

Clive Davis promises the upcoming Whitney Houston bio-pic will be a “no holds barred” portrait of the late singer-actress. His disappointment regarding previous documentaries on the ill-fated artist led to his hands-on involvement in this project.
The music mogul who guided Houston’s career will co-write the movie script. He tells the Variety podcast Strictly Business, “I have a mission… that the full picture of Whitney Houston is captured in a no-holds-barred film that is musically rich and shows her genius and more of her character than we have seen to date.”
The movie will use Whitney’s recordings, so whomever is cast won’t have to sing — opening up the role to actresses whose strengths aren’t musical.

Reports are coming out of people complaining of eye irritation, tearing, and eye discomfort related to minty lip balms or even gum and breath mints while wearing a mask. According to doctors, the peppermint oil or menthol, depending on the product, will get trapped under the mask in a concentrated amount and migrate toward the eyes, causing irritation. When mint can dissipate in the open air, it’s no big deal, but when it’s concentrated under your mask and makes its way to the delicate eye area through the space between your nose and the top of the mask it can result in red, irritated, itchy, and watery eyes. You don’t want to be touching your face or your eyes when you are out and about in a pandemic — so skip the minty stuff when you’re wearing a mask. (Women’s Health)
